HF-4 Hand-Foot Contamination Monitor Description
The HF-4 Hand-Foot Contamination Monitor is designed for routine personnel contamination monitoring at the entrances and exits of radiologically controlled areas.
Using gas-less smart scintillation detectors, the HF-4 measures alpha, beta and gamma-emitting radionuclide contamination on the hands, feet and clothing. Dedicated detectors simultaneously monitor both feet and hands, while a two-stage hand measurement allows both the palms and backs of the hands to be checked.
A detachable hand detector can also be used for frisking clothing and other areas of the body, extending the system beyond fixed hand and foot monitoring. Dynamic processing algorithms automatically optimise measurement times according to the measured background, helping provide efficient personnel throughput.
The combination of a compact design, touchscreen operation and flexible detector options makes the HF-4 suitable for nuclear facilities, decommissioning, radioactive waste operations, nuclear medicine, laboratories and industrial radiation facilities.
