ExitScan-1 Personnel Exit Monitor Description
The ExitScan-1 Personnel Exit Monitor is a compact whole-body contamination monitoring system designed for personnel leaving radiologically controlled areas.
Using gas-less scintillation detector technology, the ExitScan-1 provides extensive monitoring coverage across the front and back of the body, both sides of the hands and feet, arms and outer legs. Different detector configurations are available for the measurement of alpha, beta and gamma-emitting radionuclides, allowing the system to be configured around the specific radiological hazards of a facility.
Dynamic measurement algorithms optimise monitoring times to help maximise personnel throughput while maintaining effective contamination detection. Tight detector geometry around the hands provides particularly effective measurement of alpha contamination.
A user-friendly interface, colour displays and voice prompts guide personnel through the monitoring sequence. Stored presets allow parameters including alarm levels, radionuclides and measurement units to be quickly selected, helping standardise monitoring across different areas or operating conditions.
The ExitScan-1 can also integrate with wider site infrastructure through Ethernet communications, user identification and relay outputs for equipment such as doors, turnstiles and external alarms.
